Today's charging system technology has eclipsed anything ever thought possible 10 years prior. With internal fans, temperature compensation, denser flat wire hairpin windings, 6 phase 12 diode rectifiers and available multi step variable voltage programmable regulators they are able to charge harder and smarter than ever before. Nations has harnessed this technology and adapted it into an elegant fit for the RV Industry. We use customized CNC billet housings, regulators, wiring harness assemblies and pulleys to make it possible to install this type of charging system to run independently from the vehicle. The factory alternator does what it is intended to do by the original manufacturers while the auxiliary alternator (g/u) takes care of the separate battery bank that supplies power to the added on accessories. This makes the vehicle more dependable and increases the available electrical capacity.

The PROMASTER-280XP-ER-L g/u alternator uses the MC-614 or MC-618 Balmar External Regulator for Lithium Battery Charging. This alternator comes with the harness to be used with your existing regulator.

Great customer service
The only issue I had was regarding the wiring harness. The original, which I removed, had two 5 amp fuses in the connector which goes thru the firewall and into the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel. The harness that came with the alternator only had one fuse, though there was a place for the second. I called to ask if the second fuse was necessary and was told that the harnesses were shi

So far so good
I ordered this alternator to replace my old version alternator because I upgraded to a lithium battery. I already had the mc614 voltage regulator. I found that most RV installers are clueless about Promaster UGs. Brian at Best Buy RV in Las Vegas installed both. He had to contact Nations a few times and they were very helpful.
