Replacement for 6.5 Diesel Hummer Starter July 10, 2011

I bought this as a replacement for a 6.5 diesel H1 Hummer. It starts the engine much quicker than the stock starter. It did not  require any shims. But I did have to add extra washers to the bolts, since the body of this unit is ~ .25inches thinner.

It works excellent!

Note: This is a high speed gear reduction starter. The whine you get as the engine starts is the starter motor coming up to speed. This is normal.

At these prices, I just ordered a spare...just in case.
