The Nations Starter Alternator AD-230 SP
series alternator fits all 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado pickup trucks with
the 4.3L V6, and 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L Vortec V8 engines, as well as the 6.6L
Duramax diesel engine. It is one of the best performing high output
alternator upgrades for the underpowered stock charging system. It has
no trouble handling high current demand accessories such as: extra
lighting, snow plows, winches, high performance car audio systems,
inverters, and televisions etc.
The Problem:
The original alternator that came with the
vehicle was rated at 105 amps. However, this alternator only provides 70
amps at idle which is barely enough for your stock electrical system,
let alone add on accessories.

alternators aren't just over-wound stock alternator casings rebadged as
"high output" alternators. Instead of following the competition and
trying to squeeze the most out of a stock unit, we engineered our own
large case alternator that weighs 6 pounds heavier than the stock 105
amp alternator. Unlike an over-wound stock alternator, our special AD
series alternator is capable of safely producing large amounts of
current for long periods of time without failure for increased peace of
mind.
